Sunshine Acres Montessori School Director

Shanon Flowers graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors of Science and is currently working on her Master’s in Education at KU. She became a certified Montessori teacher for children ages 2 ½ to 6 through NCME/ AMS in 2001. She began working at Sunshine Acres Montessori School in 1997 and completed her student teaching here. It was at Sunshine Acres that she fell in love with the Montessori approach and now spends much of her evenings educating other adults on the Montessori philosophy at the Kansas City Center for Montessori Education, an affiliate of the American Montessori Society. Shanon has taught numerous local workshops and has presented curriculum she developed at the national conferences as well. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her three school-aged daughters, whom inspire and educate her every day.
