About Us

Children play and learn on a 3-acre, well-equipped, and beautifully landscaped playground.

Programs include preschool, private kindergarten, and extended care services. Children may attend Sunshine Acres 2, 3, or 5 days a week, either half day or all day.

The seven classrooms serve approximately 124 children each year and employs about 30 staff including teachers and administration.

The school offers programs to children 1 year through 12 years of age. In January 2009, we opened two more classrooms, only this time we included Toddlers ages 1-3.

Sunshine Acres is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. year round, except for holidays and a few pre-announced days.

Meals and snacks are prepared in a full-service kitchen and served family-style.

Sunshine Acres Montessori School is a recipient of the Douglas County Child Development Association Child Care Scholarship Program. Funding for this program is provided by the United Way of Douglas County.
